CHOPPING The strong winds, which blew over the Bydgoszcz Forest, has left a lot of the broken pine trees, which until now lie at the shore of Jezuickie Lake serving for the enthusiasts of the forest leisure. From week to week the branches of the fallen trees have been shortened a little bit, in what Hudur has undisputedly participated. This good-natured dog has bitten into the pine tree wood. Admittedly, the blade, has not entered into the material too aggressively and due to its low grind, it has operated rather shallow, however without any greater worries you could break away the wood pieces while moving it to the sides. It has accelerated the work significantly although you have had to consider that pine constitutes a soft wood and in case of the hard-deciduous tree species it could last for a longer time. Chopping has proceeded very efficiently although during a long-term work its thin handle has turned out to be rather not ergonomic and has started to hurt my palm. Hundur has coped with preparing the logs for a bonfire and nevertheless it is not its main specialty, it is able to replace in this activity the small, camp hatchets. BATONING When over the Polish village has been already spring, the storks have come back to their nests, and the fruit trees have spread their intoxicating scent over the meadows, I have arrived to one of the Kuyavian localities in to order to seat by the fire under the spreading linden. Splitting up the hard fireplace wood for the smaller pieces is not one of my favorite activities. Many knives feature a tendency towards wedging in the material of this type, what in a young, healthy man may cause excessive sweating and a deficiency related to a language culture. Thankfully, Hundur has surprised me positively. Preparing the kindling from the beech forest glades has turned out simpler that I have expected. In this case not high grind has worked perfectly. The blade of the knife could be stick to a half of its height and then promptly expand the wood. The length of the blade has also showed its significance. Its sufficiently long section has protruded from the log to operate freely with a tamper. PLANING As long as batoning with Hundur is light and quite pleasant, planning with it is far from any kind of convenience. Sharpening a fresh, linden stick has taken decidedly too long for me. Cleaning the tree branches from KNIFE
