tation of the bolt, via the cam slot in the bolt carrier and the cam pin, attached to the bolt, that followed the slot. As soon as the bolt is rotated to unlock from the barrel, the bolt group continues its rear- ward travel under the inertia and the resi- dual pressure in the barrel, extracting the spent case and compressing the buffer return spring, located in the buttstock. The forward movement of the bolt group first strips the fresh cartridge from the magazine and, on the final stage of the movement, rotates the bolt to lock into the barrel extension. The rotation locked bolt has 7 radial locking lugs, eight lug is located on the extractor claw. The bolt carrier group are 8620 stainless steel, and the both BCG and gas key are chro- me lined. Lower and upper receivers are milled from 7076-T6 aircraft grade alu- minum. The right side of magazine well features an laser-engraved old logo of ZM Lucznik (the predecessor of Fabryka Broni Łucznik-Radom), because Pioneer purchased all the rights to use it. Upper receiver has a flat-top MIL-STD-1913 ac- cessory rail for sights or carrying handle attachement. All PAC15 rifles come with 4150 steel nitrided buttoned barrels with 1:7 RH twist designed to work with heavy-we- ight military style rounds with 55 grains bullets. They all have the A2-style muzzle device with five assymetric slots and 1/2-28 thread. The characteristic triangle front sight post is only available in PAC15 Classic, in all other variants, iron sights are rail mounted. Inside lower receiver a semi-automa- tic only trigger mechanism was installed. It is a standard military grade trigger, but since it is AR, it can be replaced with any- thing available commercially. PAC15 rifles comes with DLG Tactical D16 telescopic polymer stock mounted on the buffer tube, the PAC15 Classic has the standard fixed polymer stock with cleaning kit container. Pioneer Arms Corp. offers following variants of PAC15 rifles: Ä 10.5" barrel and Carbine length gas system Ä 14.5" barrel and Mid length gas system Ä 16" barrel and Mid length gas system Ä 18" barrel and Rifle length gas system The common part of the rifles is the Magpul M-LOK lightweight aircraft grade aluminum handguard in different lengths for accessories attachment. The number of M-LOK compatible accessories will grow significantly in time as recently this mounting system received a USSOCOM recommendation as the most stable and rugged accessory attachment system. The PAC15 Classic has standard poly- mer tubular handguard (two-part) with limited accessories attachment capa- bilities. But there aren't problems which can't be solved with zip-ties and duct tape. How Polish is Polish AR? The Pioneer Arms Corp. does not con- firm officially, which parts in the PAC15 rifles are imported or domestically made (in-house or by Polish subcontractors). What we do know that barrels are 100% made by PAC and the M-LOK handgu- ards and polymer stocks and grips are imported. From economic standpoint, making those in-house, especially in the early production phase, would be sense- less, since there are so many manufactu- rers in the market.. We assume that triggers and unfi- nished lower and upper receivers can be currently purchased from different com- panies, but they are finished in-house. Pioneer Arms Corp. confirms that the goal is to manufacture all the key parts locally. Some will be still coming from the specialty manufactures. The customer service shouldn't be a problem since it is warranty covered by company and available in all working days. Most of the replacement parts will be shipped in 24 hours and the more complex maintenance or warranty re- pairs terms will be individually arranged. The Polish local distributor network is ra- pidly growing and rifles should be soon available for sale. The final price for the PAC15 rifle (in every configuration) will be around 1000€, but there are a bad news for customers outside Poland. At this moment, the PAC won't offer the rifles in other markets. If there will eno- ugh orders, maybe they will change their mind. Plans for the future For 2018 there are two more PAC15 rifles variants planned. First is 9 mm Para Glock magazine fed pistol caliber carbine and second is .22 rimfire. Those rifles will allow easier and more budget friendly training, plus shooting those "plinkers" could be a great fun for teen shooters! Also, they should be significan- tly cheaper than competitors. Unfortuna- tely, the do-it-yourself assembly kits are currently not planned. www.fragoutmag.com
