Pew, pew, pew PDuring the Media Day, approxima- tely 1500 .223 rounds of GGG and S&B brands were fired from four rifles (10.5", 14.5", 16" and 18"). The next day was a Demo Day at the range were even more rounds were put downrange. The most popular were the SBR which fired more than 1000 rounds each. No jams, no do- uble feeds, no problems. PAC15 are great to shoot, although both "shorties" are quite over-gassed. Rifles are stable and there is almost no recoil or muzzle rise felt. Rapid single fire or quick double taps are easy to execute. Are rifles accurate? Well, we were at 25 meters range, using the Holosun sights and at this distance all rifles are accu- rate. We are planning to shoot longer distances in nearest future. The PAC15's triggers are pure "nothin- g-fancy-here" MIL-SPEC single-stage triggers. Works smooth, has short travel and break cleanly, of course not so cle- an as in race guns or expensive match triggers. Quick double taps are possible. What we have noticed during the sho- oting was the slight over-heating. Well, all firearms heat up during the shooting, but there was a problem with both SBR variants where part of the handguard was over-heating very quickly and it was impossible to grip it firmly. The reason for that is the location of the gas port in the thin and low-profile aluminium hand- guard and the clearance between the port and the handguard wall. Solution? Wear shooting gloves. www.fragoutmag.com
