As part of the 46th NATO Baltic Air Policing, the airspaces of Lithuania,
Latvia, and Estonia have been guarded by a Royal Danish Air Force
contingent operating from the Lithuanian Šiauliai AFB, supported by
Italians from in Ämari AFB in Estonia. It's the sixth mission in the
Baltic states for the RDAF – previously they were in Lithuania in
2004, 2009, 2011, and 2013, and in 2014, they flown from Ämari as
an augmenting nation.
