F Discussion The question is: how to deal with complications that may concern so many areas of social life and health? The first step should be to come up with a Polish definition of TBI. We could adapt and implement the definitions used in the US. If we standardize international terminology, we can avoid misunderstandings during diagnostics, conferences, or reviews of foreign literature. Maybe it would be a good idea to establish institutions that offer a holistic, comprehensive care to such patients? Examples of such institution, operating in the US, are the Walter Reed Army Medical Center and the National Intrepid Center of Excellence (NICoE), where patients get help in virtually every area of medicine and rehabilitation. NICoE intends to become a leader in the field of helping post-TBI soldiers regain their health. Their facility offers e.g.: training rooms (indoor and outdoor), special walking learning rooms, VR sets with dedicated software (combat and vehicle driving simulations), speech, hearing, and vision rehabilitation; everything in on place (10). Such institutions give employment to both civilians and army men. As we can see, these two worlds are not mutually exclusive. The future will show if it's possible for our country to develop a sector providing aid to those who have already left hospitals and await the return to a new post-traumatic reality. Until such facilities are established, the best solution is to spread the knowledge related to TBI, increase the scope of additional examinations, introducing screening tests, and, what's most important, improve the awareness among specialists with regard to the broad spectrum of post-traumatic complications. F My research project When I was looking for support for my project, I didn't receive any actual help despite dozens of e-mails, letters, and phone calls. No governmental organizations were interested in the subject. An answer I got from the administrative office of one military official was quite striking, though. I found www.fragoutmag.com
