We, subjectively of course, noticed that leg underneath sweats less. Below the knee is a side zipper covered with a flap. The- oretically it is supposed to let the user don trousers on without taking his boots off but this set is not a typical softshell uniform. It's not oversized, so it can't be used as an additional layer like regular soft shell. That's why this zipper is pretty much useless and getting rid of it would not affect negatively on using that trousers. But hey, the look is very "combat- like" and it can be used as an addi- tional ventilation way. Pant cuff is adjustable with sewn into rubber band with no-slip surface on the inside inside that prevents the cuff from slipping on boot. It can be tightened with a flap, with two press studs, that sewn into the same stitching as a zipper. To be honest, one snap is enough as the second one can be used only by people with ankles like a skeleton. Mountain MCCUU is a very interesting uniform piece which design is different from what used to be called "field uniforms". It provides much better protection from weather conditions than regular uniform, "breaths" well and is really comfortable to wear. Elastic pieces in elbow and knee areas do a great jon, especially when using pro- tective pads. Frankly, the uniform has some disadvantag- es as well – fabric is less durable than NyCo Twill used in MCCUU, cargo pockets could be improved and those zippers in pantlegs are totally useless. USMC didn't adopt it but for sure it is a very interesting piece in history of uniforms development. WEIRD SHIT
