weight. Its overall length is only 675 mm and the weight is 5.2 kg. For a fifty cal is heck of a score! Despite so many pros, the SHACK-12 has also few cons that are result of unique design. Case ejection port is located right next to the shooters face. Due to such a location, shooters' face while firing from SH-12 is constant- ly hit with recoil gases. This also makes the left-handed shooting impossible– empty cases would left-hand shooters straight in the face. Designers purposefully de- cided for those solutions because of unique character of that fire- arm and super narrow specializa- tion of end-users from CT teams. But all of those allowed to bypass the biggest problem with heavy caliber rifles or as the Russians call them, the º–—»—¼—ª (that is "rifle for elephants" – huge caliber and heavy guns for hunting those very big animals, with powerful round and huge recoil), so the huge size. The size of SHACK-12 allows to use it in close quar- ter battle scenario where nar- row confined spaces and narrow corridors require compact size of weapons. In order to reduce weight of SHACK-12, designers decided to use the highly durable polymer wherever possible. Rest of the elements are made from aircraft grade aluminum and steel. Rifle features separated lower and upper receiver. The bottom one houses trigger group and the top one houses the bolt carrier. Ÿž-12 has four Picatinny rails for accessory attachment. The top rail on the upper receiver is the longest and can be used to attach carrying handle or electro-optics. SHACK-12 comes with foldable back-up iron sights. When the first information about -12 was released to the public, it was expected that rifle of that caliber will have enormous recoil and it will be impossible to shoot, especially in full-auto mode and any shooter who will try this, will be kicked hard to the back. Anyone who fired -12, also on full auto with all respon- sibility will state that his is not true. Recoil of ASH-12 is not as powerful or maybe even lighter than in semi or fully automatic 7.62x54 mm rifle! SHACK-12 allows for shoot- ing from every stance without any prob- lems, even when standing. 12.7 mm -12 is truly unique rifle and one of the very few ca- pable to shoot in full-auto. Of course, no one says it is the only one rifle of that type as rifles in .50 Beowulf or .450 Bushmaster are already available in United States. However, these rounds have shorter casing, smaller charge and their effective range is around 180 meters. It is a half of the effective range 12.7x55 mm when maintaining full ballistic parameters. Also, these rounds were designed for hunting and sport and not for combat use. to shoot, especially in full-auto mode and any shooter who will try this, will be kicked hard to the back.
