should become an OPV. The third option was to finalize the
build, and deliver a full-fledged corvette to the Navy. Ultimate-
ly the option to limit the capabilities to ones usually associat-
ed with an OPV was chosen. The annex to the primary agree-
ment was signed between the insolvency administrator of the
SMW shipyard and the Armament Inspectorate of the Polish
MOD, on 23rd September 2013. The vessel was to be hand-
ed off to the Polish Navy in the late 2016. The change of the
purpose would mean that the MOD resigned from most of the
armament. This was primarily done for budgetary reasons.
However, the sailors have managed to "smuggle" most of the
sensors, communications and electronics, including the com-
bat system, onboard the future patrol vessel. The combat sys-
tem is not really an element that is common in case of OPVs.
