One of such businesses which was born because of growing demand is UATACTIC from Kiev. Apart from a wide range of uniforms and equipment based on proven Western patterns (or often being their local copies), the company also offers their own design. UATACTIC uses high- quality materials, such as German or US made Cordura, original Velcro and accessories, such as buckles or plastic parts. Webbing is a different story. Some time ago, our team received UATACTIC Raid Pack 45+10 for review, which at first glance looks similar to Tasmanian Tiger Pathfinder and Raid but combined in one backpack. The pack is 45 liters capacity of main chamber, which can be expanded with storm-collar in the top edge. The body of the pack is Cordura 500D durable nylon fabric. Since the pack is built for use in modern combat conditions, where night vision devices are pretty common on each side of the conflict, all fabrics and materials are NIR compliant. DESIGN UATACTIC Raid Pack is typical top- loader pack, in which stuff is packed from the top. However, the designers decided that access to the main compartment, which can be separated with an internal partition, is possible from three sides. Apart from top access through the main compartment covered with a flap, we can also access the backpack on the bottom, through YKK zippered inverted U-shaped bottom flap (secured with two additional webbing straps) and through an additional front access in the middle of the height of the main compartment though U-shaped zipper. Access to the inside of the main compartment in the middle of its height is a very practical solution in the case of backpacks with large capacity (e.g. 80 liters and more) because the user may take out items that are hidden deeper in the backpack (at the bottom, we usually hide the sleeping bag). However, it is a matter of question www.fragoutmag.com
