manner, the functionalities of the Smart-S radar

One of the Bryza was configured in a way that
allowed for calibration of the TACAN beacon.
The tests involving a variety of aircraft were fi-
nalized with involvement of the W-3 WARM Ana-
konda and SH-2G Seasprite helicopters. The for-
mer aircraft carried out a MEDEVAC training and
VERTREP procedure. Kaman SH-2G, carried out
a series of take offs and landings, verifying the
helipad parameters and lighting solutions. The
aircraft also made it possible to test the vessel's
APU and aircraft refuelling system.
Currently Ślązak still needs to go through the fi-
nal stage of the tests. That stage would involve
the system that allows the crew to carry out the
RAS (Replenishment at Sea) procedure. This
would, yet again, involve the Navy that will dele-
gate the ORP Bałtyk tanker to be involved in this
portion of the tests. If those tests go smoothly,
then, soon enough, the two decades of Ślązak
saga would come to an end, once the vessel is
introduced into use in the Polish Navy.
