We have shot 16" barrel variant with Aimpoint CompM5 red dot sight. This particular gun was a demo unit and had few thousands of rounds already shot. The ARX 160 has ergonomic design to meet the requirements of most of the shooters and none with have any problems with gun after couple of minutes.. We are not discussing the typical Italian design that by one is worshipped and hated by the oth- ers. Placement of the switches is a combo of AR (magazine release), SCAR (charging handle), G36 (bolt lock release button) and X95 (alter- native bolt catch). Ergonomically it works fine, but you have to use to that setup. Double function button in front of the trigger guard worked little rough but you will use to that. If somebody does not like it can al- ways use more "classic" way. Safe- ty switch lever is bit too small and works a little hard and is placed fur- ther to the front of the gun (when comparing to AR), so switching the weapon after using it on full auto requires change of the grip. RGE HOT! The local rep of Beretta invited us to play with ARX 160 A3. First impres- sion: this thing is massive! Luckily that feeling vanishes right after taking this weapon into your own hands – rifle was made mostly from polymer, so it is relatively light, despite that its ap- pearance suggests something totally different. Additionally, on the right side of the up- per receiver underneath the button for locking folded stock there is another bolt release button (unavailable when the stock is folded). Stock is adjust- able in length (four position to choose) and can be folded to the right side of the rifle. It was placed in line with the bore what increases control of the re- coil and improves accuracy. Stock re- lease button is placed at the left side of the rifle. To the butt of the stock can be mounted weapon sling sliding it through the flat slot. FIREARMS
