The beavertail might be detached and can double as a shoulder bag. It has Velcro loop on the inside for pockets attach- ment. It will even fit a pistol. There are three integrated pockets for three 3 AR-15 magazines. To carry beavertail as a shoulder bag you need to adjust all the straps, but it will take no longer than 60 seconds. What sucks is the beavertail attachment to the pack. It is attached with metal hooks so the webbing straps must have some offset to attach them to attach- ment loops. Then you must adjust them. Since they are getting loosen, you need to re-adjust them again. The excess of the webbing must be rolled, otherwise they will catch the branches, etc. I would say that BOB pack has big problem with webbing straps. The bottom beavertail straps are routed accross the outside open-top pockets and are definitely limiting an access. After emptying pocket, straps must be re-adjusted or they will become loose. There is also a seat pad, but I couldn't figure out how to reasonably attach it. At least for now. I understand the idea behind the pad, but why detachable? It should be permanently attached and sto- wed somewhere. Now I had to carry it in the hydration system pocket. Helikon-Tex Bug Out Bag might be atta- ched to the back of the car seat. Smart idea and deal breaker for me. But in four months since purchase, I had attached it to seat twice. Why? Because to do so, you will need to keep everything in the pockets or attached to the MOLLE web- bing. This limits the capacity and I use the pack as EDC gear… www.fragoutmag.com
