standard dimensions. Carinthia already has a standard bivy bag and even compact-sized Micro Tent Plus tunnel-shaped tent but their sole purpose is protection of the sleeping bag against the elements. The Observer Plus was designed both as shelter and a sniper or a spotter hide. To provide comfort during the sniper or surveillance duties, the front part of the bivy is dome-shaped and very spacious to keep the rifle or surveillance optics on hand. The two-pole support in the area makes the entrance 104 cm wide and 75 cm high. The design is wedge-shaped as it narrows to the rear. The front flap is detachable and has a separate mosquito net. There is also an observation slit with a zipper on the bottom, so the lens of the camera or the optics might be left outside. The last unique feature is in the rear of the Observer Plus, it is an L-shaped flap with two zippers which doubles as an entry (with its own mosquito net). You can get inside through the entry of choice, e.g. from the less exposed side. The assembly and disassembly of the Observer Plus is easy and simple. The complete supporting structure consists of two foldable poles which are crossing just over the front dome in the loop on it. There are six loops around the shelter for spikes (not included) and some additional loops on top of it. There are also six loops under the bottom, where the sleeping mat might be attached for better insulation. The complete shelter with a compression bag is 1750 grams. The dimensions packed are ~35 x 12 cm. The overall length of the Observer Plus is 240 cm.
