Meaning of "tourist" is not the
same for everybody. Some regard
the refuge as the only reasonable
place of stay, for some only hotel
or Airbnb is the must have and
some claim that your home is
where you drop your ruck. Think
about bushcrafters, hikers and
other outdoorsmen who prefer
to sleep somewhere outside the
civilization. Where to sleep is a
common question. Depending on
the season or weather, usually
there are three possible options:
Ä Bivy bag
Ä Hammock & tarp
Ä Tarp/Poncho/
Basha or Tent
Each of them has pros and cons.
Bivy bag is compact and protects
against the wind or the rain, but
it is the least comfortable option.

get wet because of you sweating
inside. Bivies are preferred by the
"minimalists" as the weight of such
bags is usually 900-1200 grams
and they are pretty compact
when properly packed. Bivy bags
were born in the military and
they were meant to provide some
shelter against wind, rain or snow
and the balance between size and
weight. Definitely, you can sleep in
them on the mountain peak in the
middle of the winter, but forget
about the comfort.
Hammocks are exceptionally
comfortable and featherweight,
usually they are less than half
