Meaning of "tourist" is not the same for everybody. Some regard the refuge as the only reasonable place of stay, for some only hotel or Airbnb is the must have and some claim that your home is where you drop your ruck. Think about bushcrafters, hikers and other outdoorsmen who prefer to sleep somewhere outside the civilization. Where to sleep is a common question. Depending on the season or weather, usually there are three possible options: Ä Bivy bag Ä Hammock & tarp Ä Tarp/Poncho/ Basha or Tent Each of them has pros and cons. Bivy bag is compact and protects against the wind or the rain, but it is the least comfortable option. And usually, your sleeping bag will get wet because of you sweating inside. Bivies are preferred by the "minimalists" as the weight of such bags is usually 900-1200 grams and they are pretty compact when properly packed. Bivy bags were born in the military and they were meant to provide some shelter against wind, rain or snow and the balance between size and weight. Definitely, you can sleep in them on the mountain peak in the middle of the winter, but forget about the comfort.
