On the top of the body there is an audio socket for external microphone, headset or similar devices and the data socket for quick programming with a fill gun for instant configuration upload. There is an on/of switch with volume control and 16-position channel switch. There is also an antenna socket. When sockets are not used, they are covered with rubber plugs attached with wires. R35010 is 2.4 GHz band radio (ISM 2405-2480 MHz) with up to 16 pre-defined channels with 5 MHz raster. The operational range is up to 1000 meters in the open and 300-400 meters in the urban area. Due to the retransmission mode and compatibility with such systems as WB Group U-GATE that enable to establish mesh networks in the field, the range might be extended. The radios were also installed on the UAVs over the operation area and the retransmission enabled to multiply the range. Another feature of the R35010 is the group function. This enables users to create radio networks of various units or teams that selectively send or receive (DWPTT is required). Hierarchical networks might be created, as well as networks integrated with the higher-level radio networks. By using ZPR-35010 or ZPR-35010K programming Kit it is possible to configure following parameters: • operating mode: AUDIO, DATA or AUDIO + DATA • type of activation of transmission: VOX or PTT • operational frequency, independently for the receiving and transmitting • power output level: 400 mW/100mW/10mW/3mW • network ID • speed of data transmission (from 9.6 kbps to 57.6 kbps) • AES-128 encryption (depending on model) • sensitivity of the internal and external microphone and intercom audio input • volume of the internal speaker, external headphone and intercom audio output • volume of signals and voice messages or disabling them • wireless control of devices connected to the audio input • VOX directional transmission and extended receiving • RS232 port operational mode (autonomous or controlled data transmission) It is also possible to configure the radio "in the field" using the 0301/2 miniature programmer with pre-loaded configuration (fill gun). There is also an emergency erasing function. The user can quickly erase all the settings of the radio. After that normal operation in the transmission and reception mode is not possible. The res- toration of normal operation is possible only by reconfiguration. Currently, the R35010 is available in following variants: Ä R35010 – the base model Ä R35010K – with AES-128 encryption Ä R35010G – base model but with in-built GPS receiver Ä R35010KG – with in-built GPS receiver and AES-128 encryption R35010 is compatible with a range of headsets, hearing protection headsets (with various types of speakers, including bone conduction microphones and laryngo- phones) and in-ear headsets. The WB Group has also designed a vehicular adapter which enables using the R35010 set in a vehicle. The transceiver is then supplied from on-board power supply and can be connected to the external vehicular antenna, increasing com- munication range. R30510 radios are already deployed internationally. The Malesian armed forc- es decided to use R30510 as basic communication for every motorized infantry squad. Additional radio, in the vehicular version with external antenna, is in the vehicles to provide platoon-level communications. www.fragoutmag.com www.fragoutmag.com
