DESIGN MWS are semi-automatic gas operated short-stroke piston ri- fles. The bolt has eight lugs. The ejection port is on the right and it cannot be moved to the left side but since there is a large case de- flector, brass won't hit the shooter in the face. The ejection port has no dust cover as the bolt carrier in forward position almost complete- ly covers the port. The bolt locks in the rear position after the last round. The MWS is semi-automatic but the ZMT might offer it in the se- lect-fire variant too. Originally there were 16" and 20" barrels available but shorter 13" and 16.5" were also added. The 7075 aircraft-grade alumi- num upper receiver features full- length monolithic MIL- STD-1913 rail. allows to mount high-powered scopes, night vision and thermal clip-ons and other accessories. The scope mount should have 20- 30 MOA cant. The non- adjustable cant mounts are recommended. The most significant change in the 3rd Generation rifle is an introduc- tion of a shorter upper receiver de- signed for better compatibility with the new 13" barrel. The shortened receiver allows for easier access to its gas regulator. Of course, the new receiver might be still used with longer barrels. The regulator has three position: regular, sup- pressed and shut off. The 20" and 16" barrels come with a rifle-length gas system, the 13" and 16" barrels have a mid-length gas system. If there is enough interest, the ZMT can manufacture 22", 18" and 14" barrels, including .260 Remington chambered ones. The MWS-25 might be already converted to the 6.5 Creedmoor round which is re- cently popular in military and sport long range shooting. FIREARMS
