Aimpoint CompM5b has a clear 2MOA red dot with adjusta- ble intensity. There are 10 brightness settings, including four NVG settings. In each of the modes, one setting is a very bri- ght one. The lifetime on one batter is up to 5 years on the 7th brightness setting. Let's say it again, 5 years continuously. Apparently, there are those who checked the operating time at the lowest intensity level of the NVG mode - the manufac- turer declares that it is 500,000 hours. On the left side of the sight (looking from the shooter side) there is a battery compartment, while on the right side there is a windage adjustment turret (three levels). Interestingly, in the first examples, the replaceable turrets (or rather turret caps) were marked with calibers. The replacement process has been explained in a simple and clear way in the manual so there is no point in duplicating its contents here, but it is worth explaining what these caps are all about and what is the unique "feature" of CompM5b. As already mentioned, one of the caps does not have any marking. The kit with the sight includes a handheld "drill". Users can apply the appropriate on their own . For example - sigh zeroed at 25 meters, and the "first click" is for 100 me- ters distance. It is pretty simple, just install the custom cap, zero the rifle at 25 meters, then change the settings for 100 meters. All the details are described in the manual. Okay, it's great for sport shooting, and what about the duty use? Sight me zeroed at 50 meters for"normal" ammunition, and at the other setting might be the same distance, but sup- pressed shooting with subsonic rounds. This eliminates the need to re-zero after ammunition type change. The Aimpoint CompM5b comes in kit with a quick-release MIL-STD-1913/Picatinny rail LRP mount, where the optical COMPM5B AIMPOINT ACCESSORIES
