cessor. As the business decisions made in 2002 and 2003 ended up in a spectacular success, then it would be logical to make use of this prov- en path towards the selection of the licensor and polonization of the carrier. AM V XP – Desi gn Gen esi s The latest product of Patria Land Systems Oy is a result of a long and winding path of development initiated a decade ago. The development was based on conclusions gathered during several asymmet- ric conflicts. And - primarily - from the Polish expe- riences gathered during the foreign deployments. Putting this briefly - the multidimensionality of the problem can be summarized by saying that IED ca- pacity has grown over the last decade. The turret was overloaded (the drive system of the tur- ret could not move it with sufficient efficiency). The hull accommodated the new armour without major problems, thanks to the modular XC-360 design. Nonetheless, the upgrade headroom for the vehicle has been thus depleted. The lower capacity of the crew compartment has become the final and criti- cal issue here - as the vehicle was becoming tighter and tighter between 1990 and 2020. This is because VEHICLES
