Around three years ago at one of the IWA shows, my
beloved Wiley X launched the Detection shooting glas-
ses which immediately brought to my attention. Really
minimalistic, spaceship-looking and with 5 interchan-
geable lenses in the kit.
The Wiley X Detection was designed with the shooters
in mind and was built with the feedback of Olympic
shooters, top competition shooters and hunters.
It is dedicated for shooting and hunting but it might be
used in all different activities.
DESIGN
Detection has a frameless design, rather uncommon in
this class, which provides a really wide protection area
and 25% weight saving over other comparable glasses.
Basically, Detection are built around the lens – the ad-
justable nose piece (every lens comes with a separa-
te one) and matte black temples are directly attached
to the lens. The attachment is called Pivot Lock and is
very simple in use - just hold down the rear notch in the
