R ABBIT MIG 4.0 is the third of MIG jackets that I have used, but while there was a generation leap between 2.0 and 3.0, we only have a "facelift" when swit- ching from 3.0 to 4.0. Of course, from the point of view of some users, this will be a revolution, but for the average Joe who needs a winter jacket, but knows night vision only from action movies, it will be a change that will be irrelevant. Okay, the significance is that the new outer fabric which is a bit stiffer than in the 3.0. But the Cordura seem softer than in the previous one, be- cause the jacket does not stick out on the shoulders like a Napoleon. (but damn it, maybe it's the same Cordura, and the impression is due to the stiffer Windstopper?). The cut has practically not changed, and even if it is, these changes are minor. However, you can notice a change of details in the form of a better arrangement and attachment of the hood adjustment and completely different zippers. "Silicone" ones are fun and fabulous, but are pretty tight and it's very hard to connect both parts of the zipper, at least in the beginning. In MIG 3.0, I always had a pro- blem with a zipper and after switching to 4.0 I felt a huge im- provement. The same applies to pockets - maybe it is not so important in normal conditions, but if you are in a snowstorm and your paws are cold, a hard-to-move zipper (and it is even harder in the cold) can become a problem. Besides - my feelings are the same as in the case of MIG 3.0 (re- fer to FRAG OUT! # 15) - very nice, light and comfortable winter jacket. Exactly - winter one. Meanwhile, in Poland, there are only a few occasions to wear it, and without going to colder regions, nothing more than an ordinary longs leeve should be put under- neath or it will be too warm. I like this jacket very much and I regret that there is no opportunity to use it more often, the more that I just like winter, snow and frost. Unfortunately, this is the world we live in so I don't use it often, but whenever I can - I always put my MIG 4.0 with pleasure. Unfortunately, MIG 4.0 is expensive, but you have a bomb proof jacket, well-designed and made of top fabrics. If someone does not have a jacket for the winter, he should think about it - it will really serve a long time, and after all you are not buying such clothes every year. www.fragoutmag.com
