The events that took place late in the evening, on November 2nd, 2020, in Austria, did gain the attention of the public. The fact that the act of terror we are describing here took place in a country that is not usu- ally associated with a terrorist threat might have been surprising for a regular Joe observing the world. At the same time, it needs to be said that the attack above shared some common traits with other acts - it may be thus viewed as a typical event, considering the recent history. At his release, it was assumed that the un- dertaken actions were effective. As it turned out - they were not. We also know that the perpetra- tor used the Zastava M70B2 as- sault rifle, TT pistol, machete, and S-vest mock-up - this shows in the recording, in which the perpetrator declared his loyalty towards ISIS. The firearms were procured on the black market - most plausibly, both the pistol, as well as the rifle, were sourced from the former Yugoslavia.
