The present article elaborates on the topic, describing hy-
pothetical operations. I have chosen to describe a scenario in
which an unknown object is left in a public space, without any
supervision. Any object left alone - be it luggage, backpack,
box, parcel - would be treated by the uniformed services as
a potential IED threat.
Not only is my intention to present the modus operandi
adopted by EOD technicians. I would also like to outline the
procedures we shall adopt, should we encounter a suspicious
object at work, or in a public space.
