Magazine release: totally differ- ent as STR-9 uses proprietary mag- azines OK, these are the facts but we all were curious what's the compatibil- ity between STR-9 and legacy Glock parts. COMPATIBILITY We would live in a perfect world if Glock parts would be fully com- patible with STR-9. But they aren't. It won't work. We have disassembled the STR- 9 and tried to replace its parts with original Glock ones. The idea was the availability of aftermarket parts is so wide that nobody will place Turkish parts in the Glockā€¦ We have replaced the firing pin assembly, connector and trigger with trigger bar for the Glock ones. The outcome was not spectacular. In theory parts could work togeth- er but the slide was not racking properly during dryfiring. Probably it could work when shooting only if the Glock firing pin would fit into STR-9 breach. The trigger locked a couple of times and was not re- setting. The main parts could be replaced but there is absolutely no warranty that such a setup will work so we strongly recommend no to try that at home or shooting range. The original Glock firing pin assembly didn't work in STR-9. Legacy trigger, trigger bar and connector in STR-9? No luck. We didn't try to swap the barrel, slide or recoil spring as these parts were totally different in both guns. The conclusions are simple: do not try to replace the STR-9 parts with the Glock ones. It has no use at all and might be dangerous for shooters. It sucks because if STR- 9 would be compatible with Glock parts, then an affordable basic pis- tol could be easily upgraded. We can just hope for Stoeger to release parts in the future. The range is hot! Stoeger STR-9 is a really nice gat. Even straight from the box. The pistol grip is comfortable and al- lows for really high grip. The trigger guard undercut which in Glock Gen 3 had to be DIY'ed, is a standard in www.fragoutmag.com
