POLICE H&K MP-5A5 This 9 mm submachine gun designed by German Heckler & Koch once became a symbol of counterterrorism units and is ever popular since the SAS troops assaulted the Iranian Embassy in London during Operation Nimrod in 1980. The SPKP of Warsaw (and other regional SPKPs) have three variants of the Heckler & Koch MP-5's in their inventory: basic MP-5A5 with telescopic sliding stock, integrally suppressed MP-5SD6 and shortened MP-5K PDW with vertical front grip and side folded stock. Here pictured is the MP-5A5 with handguard rail featuring three MIL-STD-1913 accessory rails, top rail for optics such Aimpoint T-1 red dots or EOTech 552 HWS and suppressor compatible muzzle device (larger and more effective than the most common three-lug device). It seems that SPKP officers are keeping their MP-5's setups pretty simple - usually there is just a weapon light under the gun (most common are Streamlight TLR-1's and some other lights from Mactronic or Olight). The gun in this photo has Aimpoint T-1 red dot and flashlight with remote switch attached. H&K 416A5 The primary long guns of all Police SPKP teams are now the 5.56 NATO Heckler & Koch 416A5 assault rifles with 11" barrels. Their rifles replaced earlier variants of 5.56 HK416's, G-36's and old 7.62 AKMS (upgraded variants of AK rifles). The HK416A5 features a lightweight handguard with HKey attachment slots (H&K own interpretation of KeyMod), slim and more comfortable collapsible stocks, foldable front sights (when not deployed it fits into the top rail). This version is fully ambidextrous and all controls are doubled. The visible HK416A5 has 4MOA UTG/Leapers SCP-RD40RGW red dot and Streamlight TLR-1 weapon light attached.
