TIGER STRIPES
"Apocalypse Now", "Deer Hunter '' and of course the
"Green Berets" directed and starred by legendary John
Wayne as US Special Forces Colonel Kirby. BTW, because
"Green Berets" were filmed in 1968 with strong support of
the US Army, the gear and equipment is 100% authentic
(maybe except the Mattel M16 toy rifle in one of the sce-
nes). Thanks to these movies the Tigerstripe jungle camo-
uflage patterns have their spot in popular culture. Yes, pat-
terns not pattern, as there are thousands of variations of
the "tiger stripe" concept. The idea of these extremely ef-
fective jungle camouflage patterns was born in South-East
Asia in the late 1950s, but over the years there were num-
bers of fabric manufacturers, different dyes and fabrics
