asically, the .308
Win chambered
GROT 762N is an "up
scaled" 5.56 rifle. It
has the same design, internal
mechanism, operation and
technical solutions as the
assault rifle but adapted to
a more powerful full-size rifle
round. GROT 762N shares the
same layout of switches and
levers. Some new parts were
designed due the specific role
and purpose of the new rifle.
The GROT 762N with 20" bar-
rel weighs below 5 kg and
with 16" barrel it is around
4.2 kg – definitely heavier
than the 5.56 gun. The GROT
S16FB-M1 in the photos, with
16" barrel, EOTech Vudu 1-6x
LPVO, Olight Odin Mini flash-
light and full 30 round mag-
azine is around 4.7 kg. The
DMR rifle with optics, acces-
sories and ammunition ob-
viously will be heavier. Think
about the GROT 762N as an
equivalent to G28 DMR rifles.
Both GROT rifles have
cold-hammered barrel groups
(barrel, chamber, muzzle de-
vice, gas block and gas regu-
lator and piston rod) but the
5.56 barrel is chrome-lined
and 7.62 is nitred. The DMR
barrel comes with M18x1
thread and effective sup-
pressor-compatible three-lug
muzzle break and the assault
rifle barrel has 1/2x28" flash
hider. Since the threads are
common type, the muzzle de-
vices can be easily replaced
