It was then, during pandemic MSPO 2020 trade show, when some rumors emerged about MASKPOL planning to start selling equipment in MAPA commercially Then we had some so- cial media leaks, making a fuss about it and finally starting May 2021, in selected stores, we can purchase a uniform in MAPA-B camouflage, spring-summer variant meant to be used during period of full vegetation. MAPA TACTICAL Under the brand of MAPA Tactical there will be more and more pieces of different equipment and clothing in- troduced to the market, all in MAPA-B pattern. First pieces available were CP- 01 trousers, CJ-01 field jacket, CS-01 combat shirt and three types of caps. Other pieces like backpacks (produced by Wisport company) were added to the offer slightly later and soon there should be more – boonie hats, tactical gear and even softshell jackets and rainwear ac- cording to company reps. All uniform pieces of MAPA Tactical are made of lightweight fabric consist- ing of 50% cotton and 50% polyester in rip-stop weave and 205g/m2 weight, the same as US-23 and derivatives used in summer variants field uniforms of Pol- ish Armed Forces. The fabric is breatha- ble and I must admit that during June's heat wave it wasn't uncomfortable at all. Despite the large number of colors, it doesn't seem to be stiff – for instance it is very pleasant in touch, something like pyjamas or old British DMP Lightweight cammies. It is worth mentioning that the inside of the fabric is bright green with the pattern breaking through to the oth- er side so there won't be anything white sticking out after rolling the sleeves up. CP-01 Field trousers have fairly simple cut, one would say even minimalistic. There is an elastic, wide band in the waist so they will fit to the user but yet the waist is low so while bending there is a risk. Moreover, without using a belt, trousers will slide down with car- go pockets stuffed. Around the waist are six wide belt loops that will even fit a rigger's type belts. Fly is zipped and additionally secured with a Velcro flap. The crotch is not gusseted, keep that in mind. Legs are straight and simple – same circumference all the way down with- out any profiling in the knee area. Regarding the knee area, there are pockets for the internal foam knee pads. Cuffs can be adjusted with Vel- cro flaps on each pant leg at the very bottom. CP-01 Trousers have 7 pockets in total: ÄTwo regular slash hip pockets, with reinforced edges to prevent wearing down while carrying a knife; Ä Two rear pockets with Velcro flaps closure; ÄTwo cargo pockets, thigh high, with Velcro flaps closure. Each of those has overlaps in the side and rear part of it that slightly increase the capaci- ty. Front part of the pockets I sewn flat which prevents them getting caught in something and giving them a lower profile; ÄPocket on the front of the right thigh with Velcro flap. www.fragoutmag.com
