azimuth range of observation). This greatly enhances survivability. The fire control system manufactured by WB also pays a lot of attention to situational awareness. This is very important, given the fact that ZSSW-30 is an unmanned solution. It may be deduced that ZSSW-30 can download target data automatically, at the lowest command chain level, from UAVs, or via BMS, or from other sources, or turrets of the remaining vehicles of the given platoon. This means that the platoon commander can designate a target for a commander of another vehicle. This could mean that the ZSSW- 30's fire control system goes a step further, becoming a hunter-hunter- killer-plus solution. One shall also mention the UX created for the commander and the gunner. Their stations are placed on the right, behind the bulkhead that separates the engine, from the crew compartment. The gunner sits in the front, the commander sits right behind him. The gunner's station (seat excluded) consists of a large display, a control panel, and two smaller panels on both sides of the display. On the left-hand side, Obra-3 system controls can be found. Fonet comms suite panel is arranged on the right. The main screen is a touch screen. The top section features a panel for the selection of the main operating modes for the fire control system. The panel consists of a central panel, and two deployable manipulators, held by the gunner. The turret is controlled by the thumb (mini-joystick), and two buttons. The trigger has been arranged separately, while safety has been embedded in the manipulators. The solution offers impressive ergonomics, following the HOTAS concept, so common in fighter aircraft. Furthermore, the soldier's position is very stable - also in rough terrain. His hand or arm are not moving. He just needs fingers to operate the turret. The solution is somewhat similar to Challenger 2 or T-80U MBTs. The central panel features a large weapons selector that comes in the form of a four- position switch: None, Cannon, Machine Gun, Spike ATGM. The panel also features five switches to control the secondary functionalities of the turret. The commander's station is similar. The panel, alongside the selector switch, also features 10 user-friendly switches for operating the turret's functions. Six have been fitted with extra guards that make it impossible to accidentally switch them on or off. On the right of the primary display, a large, separate BMS system screen has been installed. Below, the Fonet system's control panel can be found. The best summary of the system is as follows: even if it is impossible to tell whether it is the best solution in the world (among unmanned IFV turret systems), it is undoubtedly among the best solutions in its class. This has been proven by the accuracy performance. Domestic Manufacturing - Undisputed Advantage Domestic roots of the ZSSW- 30 turret are the primary advantage of the system. It may be overlooked when discussing all of the performance figures listed above. It should be stressed that the first Polish unmanned turret for fighting vehicles has been developed domestically in its entirety, by the HSW S.A. and WB Group's engineering staff. This fact creates positive effects stepping beyond the avant-garde fire control system, or great turret design fused with impressive firepower.
