ship-borne effectors. Enhancement of the capabilities of the Navy's air defense squadrons is viewed as another step toward the improvement of the land component's potential. Each of these units would receive a battery of the Noteć AAA systems based around the KDA 35 mm automatic cannons. Plans that are less clearly defined also assume that each of the squadrons would also be equipped with the Narew SAM sys- tem. However, the Narew program is proceeding at a slow pace, even though it is being considered to be a priority air defense upgrade undertaking. The chance to relevantly boost the air de- fense potential of both squadrons (through Narew) is very slim. Some concerns also emerged, suggesting that SAM protection of Navy bases and resupply points shall be in the hands of the Air Force, with the Air Force receiving two extra Narew system batteries. that the first supply vessel would be acquired after 2026.
