ment Inspectorate. On July 28th, the Polish MoD announced that the 12th Mechanized Brigade has received a company-level Rak mortar fire module - the ninth in the history of the Polish Armed Forces. The delivery included 8 Rak mortars, along with four ar- tillery command vehicles based on the 6x6 Rosomak APC. It is the third Rak mortar "fire module" element that would be a part of the 12th Brigade's inventory. At the same time, it is the first mod- ule delivered by HSW S.A., within the framework of order placed in November 2019. Back then, the Armament Inspectorate pro- cured two modules, and associated equipment, for the Artillery and Artillery and Armament Training Centre in Toruń. The deliv- eries of the AWA ammunition carriers, and AWRU repair vehicles, would be finalized later. The above assets have been ordered in May 2021. The Rak modules are currently operated by the 17th Mechanized Brigade (two), 12th Mechanized Brigade (three), 15th Mechanized Brigade (two), and the 21st Mechanized Bri- gade (two). Rak mortars for the Artillery and Armament Training Centre have been handed off as well. Equipment for the 10th Rak KMO element is currently being manufactured. The module is scheduled to be delivered this year. The Armament Inspectorate and the HSW S.A. company concluded a contract in May 2020, concerning manufacturing and deliveries of another five Rak KMO elements (40 mortars, 20 command vehicles). The deliv- eries have been scheduled to happen between 2022 and 2024. Furthermore, an agreement concerning manufacturing and deliv- eries of AWA ammunition carriers, and AWRU armament repair vehicles has been signed this year. These support vehicles are destined to become a part of Rak modules ordered in 2019 and 2020. Apart from the above, the manufacturer also carries out relevant upgrade works. The first, original agreement covering the 2016-2019 series manufacturing of eight company-level fire modules (KMO) now also includes an annex. HSW is going to modify the first 8 KMO elements (40 mortars) so that the core weapon can utilize the longer mortar rounds, designed for the whole system as the ultimate effector.
