ZSU FEATURES The ZSU-01, the lightest and the most affordable variant, was designed for a 12.7 mm NSV-T heavy machine gun. The larger ZSU-02 and ZSU-03 variants can be fitted with both pri- mary and secondary armament. The primary weapon can be either a eiter 12.7 mm heavy machine gun (NSV-T or Brown- ing M2HB) or 40 mm automatic grenade launcher and the secondary weapon might be a coaxial mounted 5.56 mm or 7.62 mm machine gun. Weapon stations can be upgraded with optional smoke grenade launchers to generate dynamic smoke screens. The electromechanics of RCWS are designed as modular for quick and convenient configuration, replace- ment, repairs and replacement of broken components, even in the field. All ZSU stations are connected with a sights module with daylight camera, thermal camera and laser range finder. The azimuth and elevation drives are digitally controlled for quick and precision aiming and the effective stabilization systems allow shooting the targets during move. The electronic systems implemented in ZSU can be pro- grammed with denied zones which automatically excludes selected sectors. This protects against unintentional damage of the own vehicle parts which could be found in the field of fire. What is significant, all of the components of the ZSU re- mote control weapon stations were developed in Poland and are manufactured domestically for easier maintenance and to decrease dependency on foreign imported parts and com- ponents. It should be highlighted that some solutions of WB GROUP's AREX company are already fielded in the Polish Armed Forc- es – a great example is the automatic mortar rounds loading system implemented in the Huta Stalowa Wola (part of PGZ) 120 mm RAK self-propelled mortars turrets. 38 www.fragoutmag.com www.fragoutmag.com www.fragoutmag.com www.fragoutmag.com
