comfort pads which increase air flow and improve moisture management. The rear panel has a more rectangular shape with a drag handle on the rear. There are also shoulder straps rear attachment points and two vertical zippers for mounting additional mod- ular panels and pouches compatible with the popular Crye AVS standard. As you might have found it already, the Bearcat has no Velcro loops for patch- es, reinforcements or other bells and whistles. Go light, go loud. The plate panels come in just one size – Medium, but they fit Large size too and even thick plates as they are made out of stretch fabric. Bearcat might be upgraded with a Quick Re- lease cut away system if necessary. The size is adjusted by proper choice of cummerbund size. Swimmer's Cut (aka Shooter's Cut) plates but the standard SAPI-shaped plates fit great because of stretch fab- rics. The lower part is covered with Velcro loop for cummerbund closures attachment or modular front flap. The upper part of the panel is the Cordu- ra laminate and has laser-cut MOLLE slots for attachment of small pockets (like admin panel) or PTTs. There are also two 1" ITW Nexus GTSR female buckles for front flap attachment and flat shoulder straps. Shoulder straps are adjustable and have elastic loops for hydration tubes and comms wires routing – two loops are also added on the outside parts of them. The ballistic plate is held in its compartment with Velcro flap clo- sure. On the inside, the plate panel is stretch and has Velcro for spacers aka Direct Action Bearcat is an ultra-light- weight plate carrier for "hit & run" type of ops. It is just 290 grams (or 10.23 oz) and the overall design was based on the Spitfire plate carriers for improved compatibility with existing parts and accessories. But the designers decided to trim it down, so think about Bearcat as a skeletonized Spitfire. DESIGN Essentially, the base of Bearcat are front and rear plate panels made from 4-way stretch fabric on the inner side and skeletonized MOLLE matrix la- ser-cut in Cordura fabric on the outer side. Additional pieces such as cum- merbunds or front plates have to be purchased separately to configure the kit according to mission requirements.
