MOUNTING
How to place the ACRO on the
gun? Because of fully enclosed
housing, the classic attachment
directly to the slide with screws is
impossible. The ACRO's come with
their own unique footprint and featu-
re mounts with adjustable screws
on the left. ACRO uses a dovetail
type mount with a cross-slot, like a
smaller version of the Picatinny rail.
First, you need to attach the proprie-
tary plate to the gun and then place
the ACRO on it and secure it. Aim-
point has multiple steel mounting
plates currently available for most
popular pistols such as Glock MOS,
HK SFP9, CZ P10, SIG P320 and
multiple others. The Aimpoint does
not leave the ex-RMR users behind
– if you have a slide with RMR foot-
print cut, you can use the dedicated
adapter. If your gun does not have
optics ready straight from the facto-
ry and you don't want to modify it,
you can get an adapter mounted in
place of rear sight – just check if a
proper adapter is available for your
pistol.
ACRO is just fine for full-size duty
pistols and compacts but it can be
also mounted on shotguns, SMGs
or SBRs (Picatinny mounts are ava-
ilable) or an offset backup mount on
the scope or thermal sight. Since
2018, there are multiple aftermarket
accessories now available, I have
even seen dedicated Glock slides
with ACRO specific undercut.
