Royal Canadian Air Force is quite „popular" partici-
pant to Air Task Force Romania - they were first de-
ployed to Campia Turzi AFB in 2014 and later to Mihail
Kogalniceanu AFB in 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 and now in
2021. The current rotation is slightly different - it lasts
3 months (instead of the usual 4 months), while facilitat-
ing over 500 flight hours with 6x CF-188 Hornets fighters.
Operation REASSURANCE
Air Task Force is the air component of Operation
REASSURANCE - Canada's contribution to NATO assur-
ance and deterrence measures, demonstrating ability
and willingness of RCAF to work side by side with NATO
Allies and reinforce collective security. Approximately
150 personnel from CAF (Canadian Armed Forces) par-
ticipated in Block 57 of NATO enhanced Air Policing mis-
sion, from 1st September to 30th November 2021.
