The end-user may use rifles with following AR parts: Ä Trigger Groups Ä Pistol grips Ä Trigger guards Ä Safety switch Ä Stocks with buffer tube, castle nut and end-plates Ä STANAG magazines Ä Springs Ä 5/8"-24 (.300 BLK) and ½-28 (.223) muzzle devices The Frag Out! Magazine team had a chance to play a bit with the latest MWS-15 rifles. The MWS-15 is a su- per-nice good-looking sub-gun with Rattler vibe (in the current, 8" con- figuration chambered in .300 BLK). It was tan Cerakote coated but may come in solid Black or other colours. The designers behind the MWS fami- ly did a really great job and guns are looking awesome. MWS looks and feels really solid. All the parts are perfectly matched. No loose parts, no wobbling. The only thing which can be loose is the AR stock but this is a usual thing. The ZMT MWS-15 ergonomics are very similar to AR-15 style rifles. Al- most fully ambidextrous out of the box (except for a charging handle, but you can move it wherever you want) with doubled switch- es. IMHO, the one thing that I could change is the right-side bolt release lever which must be pressed down in a similar manner as the magazine re- lease button located just below it. In high-stress situations this might be an issue. Safety switch layout is the very same as in the AR and comes with 90 deg switches. If you will take a closer look onto the lower receiv- er you will see that SAFE, FIRE and AUTO markings are indicating ranges where the switch can operate. This tiny detail may matter for those who prefer 45 deg or 60 deg switches in- stead of standard ones. The location of the non-reciprocat- ing charging handle will be convenient for most of the shooters. EOTECH ho- lographic weapon sight housing will not collide during charging. The grips of the handle (or scales) might be customised – one charging of avail- able folds toward the front of the rifle and sits flat when not used. We had a chance to put some rounds downrange, but it was defi- nitely for fun and for sure not test- ing. Remember, these are essentially prototype rifles and not the serial production ones. We checked the ergonomics and how the rifles work. Definitely, these are not the lightest in their class, so the effects of recoil are for sure lower. With effective muzzle devices the recoil and muzzle rise are almost non-existent and during fast single fire shooting the gun is fully controllable. Getting back to weight issues – the MWS is based on piston-driven AR-18 and not the lightweight AR-15, but it is pretty well balanced and it is not "heavy on barrel" as CZ 805 BREN.
