delivery of two sample Survivor R ve-
hicles is planned for 2022. With this
new SW 5 extensive tests including
full protection certification will be
managed. Delivery of the serial pro-
duction vehicles is expected to begin
in 2023 and should be completed in
2026. During the scheduled service
life of up to 30 years within the police
force, Rheinmetall will also take care
with extendable three-year contracts
for maintenance as well as logistical
support for the vehicles at the loca-
tions of the federal police and the
state police.
The German state police in Berlin,
North Rhine-Westphalia and Saxony
are already using their own variants
of this extremely mobile and excel-
lently protected vehicle for their local
police SEK - special forces interven-
tion teams (Spezialeinsatzkomman-
do). These vehicles were introduced
starting from 2017. Fielding contin-
ued in 2018 and 2019. However, Ba-
