with the AK conversion kit and only 20 rounds were fired. 50 meters range, STV brand ammunition, prone shooting stance supported with Helikon-Tex Back- blast apron. The rifle was zeroed with a 10.5" barrel and 5.56 rounds. After con- version, the first three shots were 10 cm up and to the right and the remaining 17 were essentially Kentucky windage be- cause I haven't zeroed sights. The recoil is definitely higher due to more powerful rounds but I see potential in the conversion kit. I need to re-zero the rifle again with a standard 14.5" barrel as a benchmark and then I will see how the point of impact changes at 50 and 100 meters distance. 14.5" barrel Another addition is a 14.5" barrel with gas block, gas piston and its rod and muzzle device. It finally became avail- able but, in my opinion, this should be the standard barrel for both military and com- mercial variants of the rifles. It is optimal. The 1.5" inch does not have any negative impact on the accuracy on the most com- mon shooting distances (or in combat) but is definitely more portable, especially if the suppressor is being used. The Pol- ish Armed Forces requested a 16" barrel and in the foreseeable future the military is not going to order any other lengths. New barrel is fluted, chrome-lined and has 1:9 twist. The standard muzzle de- vice is attached to ½-28 thread. I imme- diately replaced it with a B&T one which dramatically reduces the muzzle, looks good and is suppressor compatible. As already mentioned, this should be the primary barrel for GROT rifles and both 10.5" and 14.5" should be option- al. With the mid-length barrel installed the gun looks smokin' hot and when the short handguard is installed it has bet- ter proportions as well. I would definitely recommend Fabryka Broni to release the kit with two barrels assemblies as they already did with long and short one but with 14.5" as basic one and the second barrel of choice. Stock adapters Fabryka Broni also released two fold- ing stock adapters (the adapter already available was fixed for unknown reasons) in "high-ride" and "mid-ride" variants. The "mid-ride" has the stock tube on the very same height as the fixed stock adapter and "high-ride" has a stock axis about 5.5 mm higher, so shooters can use a stock without the cheek pieces. Except the axis, there are slight differences between the adapters. Both adapters vastly increase GROT portability – guns can fire with stock fold- ed but you must be sure that stock (with cheek piece) does not cover the ejection port. They also increase the stock pull length by a few millimeters, which is an important factor for taller shooters. Adapters are machined from aircraft grade aluminum (original stocks are 14 www.fragoutmag.com
