Sounds simple, ain't it? Maybe, but our team was 150+
years old! Shooting during physical exertion, in full gear
and with oxygen deficit is tough. Especially when you
mostly shoot static and without gear. The physical stress
makes proper and accurate shooting very difficult and
increases the margin for errors or mistakes. All of the-
se were punished by penalties. Of course, the safety ru-
les were set high and there were no DQ's or ND's at all.
Thumbs up for the hosts. Shooters made mistakes – they
were shooting to wrong targets or were making wrong
round counts when shooting colored targets. Shooting
from the moving vehicle was something absolutely new
from some of the shooters – Humvee was moving slowly
but shooting from different angles was a tough lesson for
many. OP Furia was not only a great place for shooters to
test themselves. It was an even better place to test the-
ir gear. Sophisticated lightweight kit for static shooting
wasn't solid enough for highly dynamic stages. We have
seen magazines falling, we have even seen SAPI plates
falling. Sh*t happens.
What really made the event was the tacticool vibe and
"positive vibrations". Good team, gearwhores meet up
and even some exhibitors and partners showing off their
gear. Food and BBQ were great too!
The hosts of the challenge, under the command of Da-
rek Pollak from C12, stepped up to the mark and made
the event safe and professional. Good job, C12!
