The new generation FONET system is also being
marketed on the American market, by WB America.
The Polish solution is also offered in a tendering pro-
cedure aimed at selecting a communications suite for
mechanized brigade vehicles, organized by one of the
foreign customers.
Characteristics
The new generation FONET system offers more
computing power which translates into a greater data
processing capability, thanks to the quad-core pro-
cessor in the mainframe.
The number of MELPe 2400 encoded radio channels
for all of the radios within the system has been in-
creased, along with an increased number of 32 voice
streams, encoded with the use of the G.729 codec.
It is also possible for a myriad of functions requiring
high computing power to be implemented, such as
voice control, or "speech to text" functionalities. Fur-
thermore, the system can process the video streams
fed from unmanned platforms and onboard cameras.
