PLAYING WITH TS12 IWI TS12 is… weird IMHO. First- ly, it is a bull-pup design so not a pretty common thing for a shotgun. Secondly, the feeding system is to- tally uncommon. TS12 ergonomics and layout have more in common with assault rifles than with typical 12 gauge. But it does not mean that it is a bad gun or something like that. The more time you will spend behind the TS12, the more you will appreciate it. At the first sight, it looks bulky, boxy and heavy but it's all about the optics. It might look huge from the side, due to 26 cm height but its overall length is just 72 cm. 4.1 ki- lograms of weight is not much, es- pecially that it is well balanced and the center of gravity is somewhere in the front of the pistol grip. Han- dling of TS12 is great and we had no problems with getting behind it even with EOTECH XPS holosight attached which sits pretty low. For sure, to get comfortable with TS12 you need to spend some time with it. The mechanics and opera- tion is totally different than in a typ- ical pump-action shotgun. You will have to learn the operation, espe- cially the rotation of the magazine chambers. After dozens of rounds fired and a couple loading/rotat- ing exercises you will get familiar with it. Then it quickly becomes a fun gun. This thing absolutely churns through ammo. During our "test drive" with around 200 shells, we had just one failure to extract caused by shell malfunction and just a couple of jams at the very beginning. Quite contrary to the initial im- pressions, the TS12 was designed very well. All the controls are easily reachable, are tactile and effective. After some training, the magazine rotating becomes easy as a walk in the park. FIREARMS
