FIREARMS way, replicating a military weapon. It shoots the same as before, the weight gain is less than 0.5 kg, and in a few minutes you can restore it to the factory configuration with just a screwdriver. I'm not going to do that, however, because, as I wrote, the rifle configured this way looks like a real M4, and after all, that's what it was configured for. I will probably do two more thin- gs with it. I'll put a newer carrying strap attachment on the barrel, along with the USGI black M4 strap. Such an attachment is placed on the barrel between the "sail" of the front sight, so you get an extra loop to route the strap, but on the side of the barrel, not underneath. The other end of the strap is interwo- ven from the top through a notch in the butt stock, and this results in a quite comfortable two-point belt, although lacking the possibility of quick adjustment. With the current way of attaching the strap, the car- bine can be carried comfortably basically only in the one position, because even hanging it over the back is already uncomfortable. I am also thinking about shorte- ning the barrel. The problem is that I want to keep its profile, so cutting it down by 1.5" will cut off the ori- ginal cut out. In order to preserve it, the barrel would have to be re- -profiled, which in turn would force the barrel to be recoated with a pro- tective coating (in this case phos- phate). I'm a little afraid of all this, FIREARMS
