HECKLER & KOCH After a long bidding and legal battle, the final German armed forces' new rifle, the System Sturmgewehr Bundeswehr (SSB) to replace the H&K G36 and its variants, will be... the H&K only this time the G95A1. Haenel lost the case, HK won again. H&K presented the final configuration of the G95A1, the upgraded HK416A8 (yes, it's the eight official iteration of the HK416), in 419mm barrel (G95A1) and 356mm barrel (G95KA1) versions. To confuse things a bit, the HK G95 (without additional letters) is the designation of the HK416A7 carbine with a 419 mm barrel, which was already adopted in 2017 by German SOF as the Sturmgewehr Speziakräfte (for KSK and KSM), while the HK G38 is... the HK416A5. Returning to the SSD/G95A1 - aside from the characteristic heavily inclined pistol grip and a slightly shorter, easily detachable hand- guard, this is a very classic design. The rifles will be delivered in RAL8000 color and users will receive ELCAN SpecterDR 1/4x sights in a variant developed especially for BW (housing in RAL8000, Picatinny/MIL-STD-1913 rail for MRDS red dot integrated on top of the sight and ambidextrous zoom lever) and a Rheinmetall LLM Vario Ray MkIII module consisting of a laser sight and weapon light. Also officially unveiled was HK's new subcompact pistol, the SFP9CCl, a single-action variant of the classic SFP9, inten- ded to compete with the Glock 43X or SIG P365. Unfortunately, only in a glass tank. The pistol is also expected to be available in optics-ready variants. TRADE
