concept, it is also possible to reinforce the baseline armor with extra panels that would increase the protection levels. In its baseline configuration, with a maximum combat weight of 28 tonnes, Borsuk may attain a top speed of 65 kph when on a hard surface. A high power-to-weight ratio (25.7 HP per tonne) is ensured by the 720 HP MTU 8V199 TE20 engine. The hydropneumatic suspension enhances the ride comfort, on the road and offroad. In the latter case, the HSW S.A. design team could have used their Krab program experience - as the Krab howitzer makes use of a similar suspension system, praised highly by the artillerymen. Even though the baseline configuration of the Borsuk IFV has not been publicly disclosed in detail, it may be assumed that digital communica- tion systems by the WB Group would be integrated onboard, along with a BMS, satellite navigation suite, or CRBN sensors. All of these enhancements are to put the mechanized battalions of the Polish Army through a revolution, similar to the one experienced by the artillery units receiving the Krab or K9A1 Thunder howitzers, or MBT units taking deliveries of the K2 Black Panther or M1 Abrams. 16 www.fragoutmag.com
