GORE-TEX Stretch technology: Reduction of thermal stress and optimum freedom of movement GORE-TEX Stretch technology, the innovative combination of robust, bre- athable hardshell material and stretch components, is the first textile techno- logy for military clothing that reduces thermal stress while allowing maxi- mum freedom of movement: protection against overheating and improved freedom of movement are at the top of soldiers' wish lists for operational clothing. This is confirmed by numero- us surveys conducted by Gore among members of various military units. With the GORE-TEX Stretch product techno- logy, the specialist for technical functio- nal textiles has created a milestone for more comfort and protection: this con- sists of elastic components between a membrane and robust polyamide outer textile. The innovative material offers up to 20 percent elasticity and is ideal for clothing with close-fitting cuts. The tighter fit reduces air pockets between the body and clothing. Breathability is up to 25 percent better compared to previous military clothing. In addition to significantly improved temperature re- gulation, the material is more comforta- ble to wear and can be easily combined with other layers of clothing without restricting freedom of movement. The GORE-TEX Stretch product technolo- gy is also permanently waterproof and windproof. Comfortable fit, easy cleaning, robust protection GORE-TEX combat boots prove the- ir worth in the field from the very first minute: they are comfortable right from the start, do not need to be broken in and retain their shape. Their robust- ness offers reliable protection against sharp objects, common chemicals and moisture. Care is very easy, simply rin- se with water. Specific care products are not necessary. Even after months of wear in a wet environment, they remain durably waterproof and breathable and exceed the required values in accordan- ce with EN ISO 20345/347 many times over. Reduced CO2 emissions, less material waste Another advantage: EXTRAGUARD upper technology is very durable thanks to its robust and long-lasting perfor- mance, a decisive lever for greater su- stainability. This has been proven by numerous tests carried out under labo- ratory and practical conditions. Thanks to the low consumption of resources and minimized CO2 emissions, the ma- terial also sets new standards in terms of the low environmental impact of pro- duction. 42 www.fragoutmag.com
