Selected Contracts Signed by the Group's Companies 2023 has also turned out to be a breakthrough year for the Miec- znik program. In June, the cornerstone was placed, beginning the hull hall construction works, with the said hall expected to be used for the purpose of building three modern frigates for the Polish Navy. Sheet-cutting ceremony with regard to the first vessel took place in August. Agreement with Thales was signed in October - on delivery of the TACTICOS CMS, along with the sensor packages selected for the Polish frigates. In late 2023 it was announced that the second, and third vessels would receive effectors and sensors identical to the ones procured for the first vessel, the prototype, thereby making it possible to secure air and naval domains. On June 14th, 2023, the PGZ Group's companies concluded a set of agreements with the Armament Agency on the delivery of the BAOBAB-K scattered minelaying platforms, and mines, manufac- tured at the Bydgoszcz-based Belma company. The agreement concerned the delivery of 24 vehicles manufactured by a consorti- um formed by PGZ S.A., and HSW S.A. - with the latter entity acting as the leader. On August 14th, the PGZ Group companies signed agreements with the Armament Agency, on delivery of almost 400 light recon- naissance vehicles, plus two framework agreements on procure- ment of heavy IFVs and a new wheeled APC. PGZ-WWR consortium responsible for delivering MLRS-class weapons system elements for the Polish Armed Forces was award- ed the second contract by the Armament Agency, concerning the delivery of 198 special purpose base platforms for this weapons system, scheduled to be finalized between 2024 and 2027. The contract value has been defined as 1.5 billion zlotys (gross). On June 1st the PGZ-AMUNICJA [PGZ Ammunition] consortium and the Armament Agency signed a long-term framework contract on the delivery of ammunition for the Polish Armed Forces. The agreement assumes that hundreds of thousands of 155 mm artil- lery rounds would be supplied. It is also expected that performance contracts would be signed involving the PGZ-AMUNICJA consor- tium for a varied inventory of 120 mm munition types. The timeline for the said agreement reaches out to 2029. Relevant steps have also been made, aimed at establishing a Hardware-In-The-Loop laboratory. PGZ S.A. and HOCHTIEF Polska S.A. signed a general contracting agreement on construc- tion works when it comes to the said agreement. In February 2023, the Łucznik Radom Arms Factory and the Arma- ment Agency signed an annex to agreement with a value of 826 mln (gross), on extra deliveries of the MSBS Grot A2 rifles for the Polish Armed Forces. Further MSBS GROT 5.56 mm C16 FB-A2 rifles would be delivered to the Armed Forces, as the provisions of the annex specify, by the end of 2026. 70 thousand MSBS Grot rifles are expected to be supplied within the said term. Similar approval was issued concerning another 11 million zlotys worth agreement signed with the Armament Agency, on delivery of 250 7.62x51 mm NATO GROT 762N sniper rifles for the Polish Armed Forces. That agreement was signed on February 24th. On that day, signatures were placed underneath another annex, on de- livery of an extra 88 thousand MSBS Grot rifles for the Polish Army, with a value of ca. PLN 1 bn. On May 19th, 2023, the Company signed another agreement with the Armament Agency, worth more than PLN 160 million, on delivery of 28 thousand VIS 100 pistols for the Polish Armed Forces. The Polish Armed Forces are not the only customers getting the MSBS Grot rifles. Thanks to long-term collaboration with African states, within the scope of individual kits, the PGZ Group signed an agreement on delivery of the MSBS Grot rifles for one of the states in Central-Eastern Africa. Meanwhile, the Armament Agency and the Maskpol company con- cluded an agreement on the delivery of several thousand KKZ-01 bulletproof vests for the Polish Armed Forces. The guaranteed por- tion of the agreement, deliverable in 2024, and the option envis- aged for 2025, have a total value of ca. PLN 490 million. In February a framework agreement was signed by and between the Armament Agency, and a consortium formed by PGZ and HSW, on the delivery of almost 1,000 Borsuk IFVs, and specialist vehicles based on a universal, modular, tracked platform. In June, meanwhile, HSW S.A. received PLN 600 million of extra capital. Apart from the aforesaid projects, the investments will also be useful in modernizing and boosting the manufacturing capacity of the Autosan HSW branch in Sanok, when it comes to manufac- turing of civil and military products - such as special-purpose 4x4 vehicles. PGZ Group also signed a number of agreements with the Arma- ment Agency on October 11th in Nowa Dęba - worth almost PLN 1 billion, the contracts cover the procurement of equipment and weapons for the Polish Armed Forces. Further agreements con- cern the acquisition of Jelcz vehicles that would be used as a base platform for the NSM (Naval Strike Missile) system. These vehicles would form another two Naval Missile Units, along with 6 new com- mand vehicles, based on a wheeled APC. Two days later, a mile- stone event happened for ZM Bumar-Łabędy, when PM Mateusz Morawiecki signed an investment contract on the establishment of the second Krab self-propelled howitzer manufacturing site. On October 26th, 2023, PIT-RADWAR, WZE, and the Norwegian Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace companies signed agreements on the delivery of equipment for two Naval Missile Unit elements, and maintenance and manufacturing of the NSM missiles. www.fragoutmag.com
