7) In what way do the FGM-148 operators handle precise engage- ments at ranges close to the maxi- mum range of the system? During the courses organized at the Center, the Javelin ATGM operators train, using specialized simulator systems. This is dictated mainly by the economy, and cost involved in organizing a live fire event. However, when it comes to the results achie- ved through the use of the simula- tors, these are more than satisfying. One should point out that the softwa- re used requires the operator to be more precise than in real life. So far, a couple of live fire events have taken place, involving the Javelin ATGM. Just in June this year, two of our tra- inees had a chance to live fire Javelin missiles, launching them against tar- gets located ca. 1.5 kilometers away. Two missiles, two hits. 5) Is the experience gathered during the course organized in the United Kingdom transferrable into the Polish context? Please remember that both Poland, as well as the United Kingdom, are a part of the NATO alliance. All tech- niques, tactics, and procedures are similar, or even identical in some cases. During courses as such, we gather experience and replicate the best practices adopted by the British, however, we also create a training identity of our own. 6) What else could be done, in your opinion, to enhance the training process for the FGM-148 Javelin in the Territorial Defence? We strive to constantly grow, daily, and attend various courses and gather new knowledge - the course I gradu- ated from is an example of that, and the same applies to the ongoing co- operation with the US National Guard. Currently, all of the knowledge and experience need to be properly used, through the process of perfecting the training courses that are carried out now, and through the creation of new training programs. Notably, the Ter- ritorial Defense Component Training Center, based on what we see during the war in Ukraine, and other conflicts, continuously works on new tactical so- lutions involving the Javelin ATGM.
