intenance, but few users will notice them at first glance. Starting from the GROT's busi- ness end, its muzzle device and device method of attachment have been changed. The shape of the de- vice might not be a final one as of yet, but it is known that it is to serve primarily as a flash suppressor and to be compatible with the stan- dard NATO A2-type for compatibi- lity with suppressors. The barrel is now 1/2-28-UNEF threaded which will allow the use of any "aftermar- ket" muzzle devices. The bayonet fixing capability was dropped. The bayonet was earlier attached to a proprietary muzzle device. The changes also included the gas system - it is now to have a sli- ghtly different appearance due to a change in the way it is seated on the barrel (the mounting pins from the lower part were moved to the upper part). There will be a new gas regulator with a lever, the pressing of which will be necessary to re- move the regulator. Unfortunately, on the slide show the positions of the regulator were marked "in the old way", i.e. 1 and 2, so at least for the time being there is no sup- pressor dedicated position. This is not a problem, because it should be remembered that this "secret" position of the regulator is only a matter of selecting the appropriate diameter of the port in it. A very interesting and previo- usly unannounced change, but one that drastically improves the handling , is the redesign of the gas piston and its rod. These two elements were previously separa- te. Users could remove the piston by removing the gas regulator, but to remove the piston rod, the bar- rel had to be disassembled. This is something users often do not do due to, for example, lack of per- mission from superiors or fear of losing zero. Unfortunately, such action consequently leads to the www.fragoutmag.com
