As the old saying goes, every army prepares for a war that has already
been fought. And that's a fact as many contemporary forces have been
preparing for asymmetric conflicts, similar to Iraq or Afghanistan,
where the enemy was a lightly armed guerrilla force fighting against
fully armed and supported allied troops.
