The participants emphasized the
intensity of the training, which was
mostly filled with practical tasks.
Working with explosives, safety pro-
cedures, the theory of explosions,
and other physics-chemical issues
related to TNT, RDX, and ANFO were
valuable experiences even for those
encountering them not for the first
time. One part of the training was a
demonstration of devices triggered
both by the potential victim and re-
motely. These skills are becoming in-
creasingly forgotten as experienced
EOD technicians retire, taking with
