TRAINING AND COOPERATION In order to maintain combat readiness, SPKP operators carry out numerous exercises and training sessions, in various conditions and scenarios involving cooperation with many entities, including foreign ones. In 2021, SPKP Kraków officers exercised on the premises of the Cracow Combined Heat and Power Plant together with invited representatives of a counterterrorist unit from the Czech Ostrava and units from other provinces. The exercises were part of the broader project "Effective Together - SPKP with PSP against terrorist threats," carried out together with the State Fire Service. The project was co-financed by the European Union from the National Homeland Security Fund Program. The Fire Department was represented by Kraków's Fire and Re- scue Unit No. 6, whose specialty is chemical rescue. The SPKP in Krakow cooperates with the Slovak PPU in Žilina, with which it holds annual joint exercises at the LEST Training Center in Slovakia. RECRUITING The SPKP Kraków Krakow recruits people on an ongoing basis. These are exceptional operators, characterized by the highest combat value, and are subject to a rigo- rous recruitment system. On October 14, 2024, Presi- dent of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda signed into law the Act of October 1, 2024, amending certain laws www.fragoutmag.com
